At Vergo, doing the right thing goes beyond protecting people and properties from pests. It means playing an active role in supporting the communities we work in and contributing positively to society, especially at Christmas, when the need for kindness and generosity is felt most.
This festive season, our teams have once again come together to support local causes, building on initiatives we proudly took part in last year and reinforcing our ongoing commitment to social value and ESG principles.
Tackling Child Poverty Through the 12 Deeds of Christmas
This year, Vergo also supported Equans’ 12 Deeds of Christmas campaign, an initiative we were pleased to be involved in last year through a different campaign, and one we are proud to support again.
As part of this year’s efforts, we sponsored two brand new pushchairs and cosy toes to support Buggies4Brum, a charity working to combat child poverty by providing essential baby equipment to families in need. For many parents, access to safe and reliable equipment can make a significant difference to daily life, particularly during the colder months.
This initiative aligns closely with our social responsibility values, helping to support vulnerable families and making a tangible difference where it is needed most.
Supporting Local Schools and Community Events
For the second year running, Vergo was delighted to support Turnham Academy’s Christmas fête by purchasing and donating a variety of selection boxes. These donations helped bring festive cheer to the event while supporting fundraising efforts for the school and its pupils.
Backing local schools is an important part of our community engagement, and we are proud to continue supporting initiatives that bring people together and create positive experiences for children and families in the areas we serve.
Supporting Mental Health and Veterans Through Our Internal Raffle
Alongside our external initiatives, we held an internal Christmas raffle, with prizes generously donated by our suppliers. Employees were invited to purchase raffle tickets by donating to one or both of our chosen charities: The Veterans’ Foundation and Andy’s Man Club.
Both charities carry significant social value, supporting veterans and promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention, causes that resonate strongly with our people and our values as an employer. The raffle not only raised funds for two vital organisations but also encouraged engagement and collaboration across the business.
Coming Together for Save the Children
Our Quedgeley office also embraced the festive spirit by taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, raising money for a charity that works tirelessly to improve the lives of children both in the UK and around the world.
Seeing our team come together for a shared cause highlights the importance of employee engagement in social value initiatives, creating a culture where giving back is encouraged and celebrated.

These initiatives reflect Vergo’s broader commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles. While much of our ESG focus centres on sustainability and responsible pest management, the social element is equally important.
