      How we eradicate bed bugs

      To eradicate any bed bug infestation, it is vital to know the exact location and the extent of the infestation so that correct treatment can be planned and implemented for successful eradication.

      Due to the fact bed bugs like hiding in cracks and crevices, they can be easily missed by the human eye. Using a trained detection dog takes the guesswork out of this process.

      Vergo’s bed bug detection team utilises a highly trained detection dog and handler who is also a specialist in bed bugs and their behaviour. This team can be deployed around the UK at short notice.

      The benefits of using detection dogs

      • Accuracy – Due to a dogs increased sense of smell, detection dogs have a proven 90% success rate of detecting bed bugs, whereas the human detection rate is only 30% (early bed bug infestations are almost impossible to detect with the human eye).
      • Speed of inspection – A detection dog takes just a few minutes and can inspect up to 100 rooms in a day whereas human inspections, when done properly, will complete a maximum of 8 in a day.

      When should a detection dog be deployed?
