Vergo’s Landmark Wildlife Services Wins Sustainability Initiative of the Year at the National Pest Awards 2023
Landmark Wildlife Services is the wildlife and rural pest division of Vergo Pest Management. Landmark has recently been awarded the prestigious Sustainability Initiative of the Year award at the National Pest Awards 2023. This recognition marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to eco-friendly and responsible pest and wildlife management practices.
Landmark Wildlife Services takes pride in its innovative and sustainable approach to pest control. Having developed a non-toxic pest control method that delivers a large instant reduction in rodents. This service uses specially adapted smokers combined with highly trained terriers to flush out and dispatch rats. In contrast, standard methods involve using toxic rodenticides and/or non-recyclable glue boards. Furthermore, multiple visits (often 2-3) must be undertaken by technicians to a client’s premises to control the infestation. Our methods effectively manage pest infestations and address critical environmental concerns.
This approach is making a difference due to us reducing toxins in the environment and mitigating the risk of secondary poisoning to non-target species, such as owls, that might consume poisoned rodents. Landmark is also reducing non-biodegradable/recyclable products such as glue boards; this method aligns with Scotland and Wales’s impending glue board ban, allowing our clients to stay ahead of the curve. In addition, Landmark is decreasing vehicle mileage and CO2 emissions as our methods are designed to deliver effective pest control within a single visit. This means fewer repeat visits, reduced vehicle mileage, and lower associated CO2 emissions.
Our wildlife services division is committed to redefining pest control and wildlife control by making it more sustainable, eco-friendly, and environmentally responsible. Want to learn more? Visit Landmark Wildlife Service or Contact Us.
